Hi everybody! My name is Chance. I was named Chance because I was lucky to get a second chance at life.  You see, I was thrown from a moving vehicle when I was a little baby of about 7 weeks old. Thankfully someone saw me and saved me.  The vet back then told them to put me to sleep because my hind legs were paralyzed, but the lady who saved me said no. And boy am I glad she did!  I get around pretty good, all on my own. My little hind legs don't work great, but they get me where I want to go! I will wait patiently on the couch for you to get me down, as I won't jump off anything. I am housetrained and go outside to potty. I am afraid of leashes and they also make it more difficult for me to walk my special way of walking, so a home with a fenced area is needed. It can even be just a small courtyard as I don't need much room. I also just love to sit out in the sun on the deck with my foster mom. I am a Chihuahua mixed with something, not sure exactly what. I am 8 years old. My foster mom says I am a very sweet boy who is timid at first and is afraid if you try to pick me up. After a couple of days they could pick me up as long as they didn’t make any quick movements. After what I went through, can you blame a guy? I am one of the 6 that was recently rescued in NC.  I was living with the others in an outbuilding rather than in the house, so I am really wanting attention and cuddles now to make up for lost time. I've just started playing with toys. I love, love, love to sit on the couch and get petted. I sleep in my foster mom's bed and I just love it! I crave love so I want to live with someone who will let me hang out on the couch and sleep in the big bed under the covers.   I'm fine with the other dogs in my foster home even if I was little timid of them in the beginning.  Can't be too careful, you know!  Now that I know they are nice, all is well. Oh, I love massages too! I currently weigh about 13 lbs but I'm working on losing a couple pounds because I got a bit chubby in my last place. Being slimmer will be better for getting around. Because I don't move very fast and can be timid, a home with no young children is required. Even though my legs don't work right, I'm no trouble at all.  I'm a good boy who's pretty self-sufficient despite it all.
